3 LOOKS – BLACK JUMPSUIT

At a recent Country Road sale I purchased this gorgeous black jumpsuit. It is such a versatile piece I decided to use it for my latest “3 LOOKS” post.

A jumpsuit can for some be a step outside their comfort zone but by sticking to a plain black one keeps it simple and classic.

The only major issue with a jumpsuit is going to the toilet, so my advice is plan ahead – there is no quick escape in one of these. I have quite a few jumpsuits so this is a voice of experience – planning ahead has enabled me to avoid any accidents so far!

I have styled this jumpsuits in 3 ways – CASUAL – WORK – FORMAL.

LOOK 1 – CASUAL

My 15 year old needed fabric to make a pyjama shirt for Home Ec so it was off to Spotlight to hunt for some suitable fabric. I did try and convince him that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fabric would work well – he was not agreeing to this. Maybe a good thing, the others in his class would probably have not agreed with me either and there may have been laughter.

As this jumpsuit is quite dressy I toned it down by teaming it with a denim vest and a long necklace from French Connection, some Cage Gladiator Flats $39.95 from Famous Footwear and an old Witchery handbag.

This handbag was one of the first purchases I made from Witchery and it justifies my hoarding personality as the tassles/fringing is now come back in fashion. That’s how I’m justifying the amount of room that I take up our combined wardrobe.

This is soon to change as I take over the room made vacant when my 21 year old moved out and turn it into a wardrobe. The transformation has started but for now hubby still has to put up with a very small section of our current wardrobe.Photo_2015-10-04_03-45-53_PM

LOOK 2 – WORK WEAR

I love the look of tan, black and leopard print, tan accessories also help keep this dressy jumpsuit casual and work appropriate for me.

As the weather heats up a scarf may not be an option so this could be swapped out with either a leopard belt or leopard handbag. As I work in an air conditioned office the leopard print scarf can continue to be an option for me all through the summer months.

I have swapped out the black fabric belt that came with the jumpsuit and added a Blue Bungalow Western tan belt $35.00 to add some contrast and draw attention to my waist. And matched this to some tan Lilliannai wedgesPhoto_2015-10-04_03-44-52_PM

LOOK 3 – FORMAL

A black jumpsuit is made for going out, you don’t need to do much to make this date night worthy.

I love a white blazer – no I really do, I own at least 4 or 5 and a white blazer would go perfectly with this jumpsuit. But as we are heading into what I think is going to be a very hot summer, I thought I would show this jumpsuit with a sleeveless white vest instead.

The white is a perfect contrast to the black of the jumpsuit and who doesn’t love a monochrome look.

I have also added a gorgeous statement necklace from Colette by Colette Hayman and a pair of super sexy heels from Famous Footwear – Bangin London Rebel $59.95.

Now every monochrome look needs a pop of colour to finish it off, below the pop of colour comes from a beautiful hot pink suede clutch $99.00 from Sissy Mt Eliza.
