3 LOOKS – BOHEMIAN TRADERS DROP CROTCH PANTS

Now I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I LOVE WEEKENDS.

I also LOVE that it also is a time that I can relax what I wear and maybe wear items slightly differently.

For me these Summer Linen Drop Crotch Pants $129.00 from Bohemian Traders scream relaxed weekend wear.

Now I just want to let you know after all the media of the last week about people writing and taking pictures about what they have been gifted and not acknowledging it. I will always list if an item has been gifted for editorial approval and if it doesn’t fit in with my style I will not recommend it or blog about it. I’m very passionate about only recommending items that I love and would wear. These pants weren’t not gifted but where purchased by me as I love them.

Normally with a 3 LOOKS post I would show you how to wear an item for 3 different events – work/casual/night out. But for today’s 3 LOOKS post I have decided to show how these pants can be used as a building block piece for relaxed weekend wear.

You will notice that I have kept the colour pallet similar for all three looks with a leaning towards a nautical and slight no frills theme. I actually didn’t do this on purpose stripes, navy and white are to me synonymous with relaxation and weekends, maybe its memories of childhood holidays spent at the seaside.

LOOK 1 – Summer Linen Drop Crotch Pants $129.00 |worn with Oversized Striped Dress $129.00 – Bohemian Traders – I love this dress it is the most versatile dress in my wardrobe, I have worn it in so many different ways (check out my instagram page here). Today I have used the half tuck and worked it as a tunic/top, the great thing about these pants is that they have plenty of room to hide excess material without adding bulk. | I have added a Mix Apparel denim shirt (similar style here $29.00) to give some interest and also to emphasis my waist, wearing a shirt around your waist as a fashion accessory/belt can sometimes feel a bit weird but it really does give you some shape. | Lastly Lace Up Flats $59.95 from Forever New

LOOK 2 – Now I did warn you that I loved stripes and navy blue, as is obvious by LOOK 2. Summer Linen Drop Crotch Pants $129.00 | worn with this fabulous linen striped jacket from Witchery from a couple of years ago. I was hesitant when I purchased this as it is quite bold but it is a very classic cut that never dates. I think if you are going to invest in a quality piece of clothing that is quite bold keep it classic – for me navy and white stripes are timeless. | White Scoop Neck Tank $29.95 – Country Road. I find that Country Road is a great place for good quality basics – they retain their shape and wear well. | Lastly some last season Country Road wedges – wedges are the perfect heels for weekend wear as they give you some height by are still comfortable to wear because the wedge carries along the entire length of the shoe.

LOOK 3 – This look is the prettiest of the 3, but still keeping it relaxed and no fuss. Summer Linen Drop Crotch Pants $129.00 | Lace Trim Blouse $139.00 Bohemian Traders (this blouse is also available as part of the Nikki’s capsule wardrobe in her Styling You Shop) – I think this blouse is such an investment piece, it can be dressed up and down and the style with its boho feel doesn’t date. I purchased this along with a black one last season and Bohemian Traders have bought it back for this season in black and white BUT they have also have added it this season in the most stunning electric blue – see here. This one is definitely on my wish list (I have to say there are a lot of items on me Bohemian Traders wish list at the moment). | Lastly a pair of nude heels from Forever New – I always love nude heels as they make my short legs look longer, something I’m always keen to achieve.

Now these Bohemian Traders drop crotch pants come in different colours:

For the lighter summer weights – Natural (as worn above), Navy or Chambray – these are currently part of Nikki’s capsule wardrobe in her Styling You Shop, head over to purchase and see the different ways these have been styled.

For a slightly heavier cotton drill weight – khaki I have this colour and wear them often in both summer and winter and also black.

Now my only advice with these pants is to size down as they are a generous relaxed fit – I’m usually a size 10 in most bottoms but purchase XS in both of the pairs that I have. Now I have had women ask me if drop crotch is flattering on short legged women (that’s me!) I say yes but I also roll up the hem on the legs to give a bit more shape and also to show a little bit more of my lower leg.

  • Sophisticated Mumma

You completely rock the dropped crotch style Karen, the neutral shade works in many ways as you have shown. I think many of us like the nautical twist, as you say, it is perfect for a relaxed weekend. p.s I might have a fair few BT items on my Christmas list 🙂

    • Thanks Nat. If you told me a year ago I would be wearing drop crotch and loving it I would have thought you crazy. Just shows how our style evolves. The new nautical collection from BT is gorgeous – the navy and white spots is high on my wish list
