I have a confession to make I LOVE STRIPES!

It’s a deep abiding love affair that has been going on for 30+ years and it doesn’t discriminate – I love stripes in all their many forms whether that be tops, skirts, pants, jackets, dresses and anything else that you can add a stripe to.

So I was very excited to receive this Striped Maxi from Fuschia Designs – it ticks so many boxes for me.

  • Cross over neckline – this perfect for a larger chest but would work equally well for my less endowed sisters as it has adjustable straps that allow you tighten so that it fits exactly as you prefer.
  • Straight line – this allows the dress to skim without cling and I can tell you that after the over indulgence over the Christmas period I want less cling and more skim in my clothes.
  • Side Splits – the side splits are great for ease of movement but not too high there is no fear of showing your undies.
  • High Waist – this is great for creating shape, for me just under my boobs is the smallest part of my torso so emphasising this gives an illusion of a slim silhouette.

I decided that this dress was perfect for a 3 LOOKS post.

Now I will be honest sometimes coming up with three different looks for a piece of clothing can be difficult but not this time.

I have picked items to accessorize with this dress that most of us would have in our wardrobe already

  • white blazer
  • denim jacket
  • white kicks
  • tan heels
  • nude heels

This is for me a cute casual weekend look and perfect for our current hot steamy weather.

All I have added to this is my Frankie4 NAT kicks (seriously I cannot get enough of these babies – they are on my feet nearly every weekend) and my trusty Kmart Straw hat (I know I have mentioned this before but this is from the men’s department and fits my large head, so for all my big headed sisters check it out you will not be disappointed).

On a side note how amazing is this wall – hubby and I found it while going for a drive on Sunday and I knew I had to use it in this weeks outfits posts.

A denim jacket is such a staple in my wardrobe I wear it for so many occasions. I also love to wear it tied around my waist this is a great way for me to create a definition as a gal with big boobs sometimes a dress or top that falls from the chest can make me look larger than I am.

This is the look that I wore to work today – I find adding the jacket just makes this a little bit more work appropriate. Also you could add a white cami or boob tub under this if you were worried about the cleavage on show or just tighten the adjustable straps.

You can see from the side view the height of the splits – there is a front panel on this dress but its not a wrap around dress so you don’t have to worry about the dress falling open when the wind catches.

Final look would be the perfect for a night out.

I have added a white linen blazer, a pair of killer heels and kept the accessories simple.

Even though this dress has a more casual vibe to it but adding a structured blazer and heels really does elevate it to a dressier level. The classic nature of the navy and white stripes lends its self to a multitude of occasions.

  • You look great in all of these looks but I particular like with the white jacket. Bring on the jacket weather!

    • Thanks Robyna – the white jacket is my favourite too and I particularly love a white linen blazer (I’ve learned to love ecthe creases). Working on air con does have its bonuses – means I can wear a jacket all year round.

  • Of course I love all three looks…whats not to love about stripes?
The dress was made for your figure and all three jackets plus accessories work a treat!
Great post…you knocked this out of the park lady – you will be tired tonight xxx

    • Stripes do hold a very special place in my wardrobe. Loved this dress it is quite stretchy so fitted perfectly. I was very tired yesterday and in bed by 8pm but had a beautiful sleep and then a sleepin today so caught up on my missing hours.
