ALL SHADES BURGUNDY

I always love as the new season clothes start to drop in store and you start to get a glimpse of what the colour palette will be – it can be a bit of a lucky dip, will it be winning colour?

I was excited to see this season BURGUNDY in all its hues – Maroon, Wine, Plum.

Bohemian Traders Wine Boyfriend Shirt $129.00 | Witchery Black Skirt (old) | Clarence Frank Hand Painted Clutch $99.00

One of my favourite colours to wear is RED the brighter the better! But do realise that it is a very bold colour that some can feel overpowers and takes over when wearing it.

Burgundy in all its shades is a much gentler, richer and sophisticated tone of red and works with most complexions and hair colours. It is a classic colour that won’t date and you can safely invest without fear that you will only get one season out of piece.

What I love about the burgundy is that it will go with all your winter neutrals of black, navy and grey, colours that fill my wardrobe all year round.

I have already added a couple of burgundy shades to my wardrobe with a White Haven Emporium Frill Dress in Berry Velvet and a Bohemian Traders Wine Boyfriend Shirt . But I’m not finished and currently crushing on a few more. Don’t be surprised if you see me in the Witchery Long Line Cardi in the near future, I’m a little obsessed with it.

I have put together a few of the items on my winter colour wishlist.

There is something for everyone to indulge in burgundy hue whether that be a whole dress, t-shirt, knit, blouse or if you don’t want to wear all over colour a cute crossbody bag could be the perfect option.

1. Hunt & Kelly LouLou Maxi Dress (limited edition) $125.00 | 2. Sportsgirl Split Back Tee $39.95 | 3. Mimco Phenomena Hip Bag $249.00 4. Witchery Long Line Cardi $129.95 5. Bohemian Traders Wine Winter Dreamer Dress $159.00 | 6. Sussan Lace Layer Cuff Top $99.95

  • I love wearing burgundy and plum in Autumn and Winter!

That velvet dress is stunning on you and it’s so well priced! To me velvet is such a luxurious material I expect to see a correspondingly high price tag. I have a velvet jacket but no velvet dress! You are seriously tempting me with this dress!

    • So do I Ingrid. The velvet dress is so beautiful and soft it’s gorgeous to wear. You do find yourself touching it all day

  • How fabulous is the boyfriend shirt? I simply adore the fabric, to me it’s cheesecloth (but that may just mean I’m super duper old for remembering it the first time around) and the colour looks stunning on you xxx

    • Haha I must be super doper old too as I think cheesecloth too. I had the most gorgeous embroidered cheesecloth top as a child until mum decided to dry it on the oven door and burnt it. I’m still traumatised and I was 7 or 8 when it happened. Fashion was important to me even back then 😜

  • Big fan of burgundy here! Can’t wait for the weather to cool down a little more so I can start wearing some of my fabulous winter gear!

  • This is my colour too Karen. Really love that dress and there is currently a velvet jacket on Ezibuy that is haunting me!
