Now, I think most of us have heard of Birdsnest and have purchased from them before, I know I have. They stock a lot of my favourite brands and, with all of them in the one place, it makes purchasing very easy.

But I have to say the Birdsnest exclusive brand Boho Bird hadn’t really been on my radar until now. If you follow me on instagram you will know that I have a real weakness for the Boho style. I find it fits perfectly with my busy lifestyle and I love the less structured relaxed look.

So when the lovely Birds at Birdsnest sent me the A/W catalogue The Cowgirl In Me I immediately fell in love.

The new collection is full of flowing tops, kimonos/wraps, long jackets, cosy knits, denim and leather pieces.

There is something for everyone in this new collection – even if you don’t want to fully embrace the boho trend, a top, or a skirt, or a piece of denim is always a great addition to any autumn/winter collection.

I could have added the whole collection to my wardrobe quite easily but chose two items to feature – the Trail Blazing Longline Duster in sky blue  and the Flying Free Top in white both versatile pieces that I will be able to work into my existing wardrobe.

Flying Free Top in white $79.95 *  | Rockmans Biker Jeggings blue wash $49.95 * | Planet Shoes Woodstock2 in taupe $299.00 * – I will be writing a post on these and a couple of other fabulous boots in the near future | Adorne clutch purchased on sale | Statement necklace purchased from local market.

I always love a white shirt – clean, fresh and perfect with denim jeans.

This shirt, with its long flowing sides, has a real touch of whimsy and romance about it. It’s the perfect palette for a statement necklace, or to layer under your favourite jacket or vest.

I worn it two ways:

  1. Above with a short statement necklace and a pair of brown knee high flat boots from Planet Shoes – a easy comfortable outfit perfect for just about any occasion.
  2. Below with a long necklace and a pair of killer heels – a couple of accessories changes and you’re ready for a day or night out.

Flying Free Top in white $79.95 *  | Rockmans Biker Jeggings blue wash $49.95 * | Witchery Raquel Booties $199.95 | Adorne clutch purchased on sale | Sister in Style Long Pendant  $40.00 (same style but different colour pendant)

Trail Blazing Longline Duster $99.95 * | Seed Distressed Denim Jeans (no longer available) | Metalicus Tank (no longer available) | Famous Footwear Surreal Nude Heels currently on sale $30.00

I love a long line coat, but don’t love the heavy weight of the ones usually available. Queensland is not known for its really cold weather so this duster, made from natural fibers, will be perfect addition to my autumn/winter wardrobe.

As it is slightly over-sized, for those in the cooler climates it will be a fabulous item to add to knitted layers.

I’ve added it to all white and a pair of heels but it would work equally as well with denim jeans and your favourite pair of boots.

The other big difference is the colour a gorgeous sky blue – such a refreshing change from the usual dark colours of typical winter clothes.

  • Did you choose these tops knowing I would want them? 😂😂
Both perfect on you…might have made a sneaky purchase from Zara Robina very similar 😘

    • Haha they are beautiful but picking from the collection was very difficult, I have my eye on a red knit at the moment. Can’t wait for it to come in to stock. The blue is so your colour and its perfect with denim, can’t wait to pair it with my BT jeans. Oh can’t wait to see what you picked up from Zara – so many lovely things in store

  • I love the two tops you featured above!

  • Love how flowy and fresh these tops are! You look great in both, but that blue one with white is my favourite!

    • Thanks Eileen – they are beautiful and fresh. The blue duster is gorgeous, I completely feel in love with the colour and hubby loved ot to which I was surprised about as he normally goes for darker colours

  • That long shirt is awesome! 🙂 I wish tops like that looked good on me but being petite I’m much too short. Love the look of it with skinny jeans though, I’ve seen a lot of the US bloggers pairing similar tops with shorts too for a really interesting look.

    • You would be surprised Mica I’m only 162cm so definitely on the short side and both of thsse work for me. I think it helps that there isn’t a lot of bulk with them otherwise the could overpower me
