I posted recently on my Instagram account about how the wonders of menopause has caused my already bountiful cup to overflow. Not only have I had the pleasures of hot flushes, a slow metabolism, thicker middle, moodiness now I have big boobs to add to the list. I’ll be really honest though I have been very lucky I haven’t needed to go on any HRT. And while the symptons are annoying they are manageable.

I always been what they call well endowed – ok I just come out and say it I have big boobs!
The boys at school used to stand at the finish line of the 100m sprint to watch me bounce across the line – I know this because they were quite happy to tell me 😩
My nickname at college in the eighties when the whole PC movement hadn’t been heard of was Big Boobs or Dolly after one very well endowed country singer.
Going braless in any form has never been an option and bra’s with underwear and thick straps have been part of my lingerie draw since I was about 16.
I did and I’ll be honest still do covet those delicate lacy confections that a lot of my friends had but alas they were never going to give me the support I needed.
So big over the shoulder boulder holders have always been in my life.
But my recent change in bra size going from an 12E to a 12G has meant I have had to go in search again for bras that would give me the LIFT and SUPPORT that I needed.
I’m going to share a couple of bras that I found in that search that work for me and my G cup.
Now I will say that these work for me but bra’s are such a personal thing so even if you are a similar size they may not be correct for you.
I went to Bras n Things (were they gave me the good news that I was now a G cup – happy days, not) and got properly fitted. I recommend this for anyone, most bra boutiques offer this service and will help you find the correct size. This definitely will save you from buying and never wearing bras that don’t fit.
So the first bra I bought was a nude T-shirt bra for me a staple.
I’ve listed below the one I came home with Body Bliss Full Cup Bra not pretty but it’s practical. I tried it on and showed it to hubby when I got home his comment was ‘Woah that’s huge’ and yes yes it is but so is what it covers 😂

Next up is the strapless bra this is really hard to find one that holds everything UP and doesn’t cause pain.
I tried on the Body Bliss Full Cup Bra in 12G in this and the cup was still not big enough, there was major spillage. So we decided to try the 14G the cup would be bigger but unfortunately it would also mean the fit around the back bigger too but I’m prepared to pull our my sewing machine and make a couple of alterations so that this is a firmer fit.
This was much better but I have to say for anyone with big boobs it’s never going to be perfect. My boobs while large are not firm so I they do tend to jiggle when in a bra that doesn’t have shoulder straps.

Next up I was determined to find something pretty – because a gal does like to look a bit sexy in her lingerie.
I have collected these next bras over the last few months.
I got lucky with the black one I found it on sale at David Jones and decided to try. I was so excited when it actually fit and gave me the little bit of pretty I was looking for.
I then found that they were available online from Triumph and as I knew my size and fit was confident enough to buy online.
Both of these give me good support and also a nice bit of cleavage and if I’m wearing a low top the peekaboo lace is cute.

Triumph Sheer Balconette Bra $59.95 in nude pink on sale for $39.00 until midnight tonight
And lastly I tried this minimiser bra in a similar style but it gives a little bit more coverage and it’s great when you have top or dress that you need a bit of extra room as this bra has a minimiser effect.
Now in this style I was actually able to go down a cup size to a F.

Triumph Sheer Minimiser Bra $59.95
All the above bra’s where purchased by me because I was desperate for something that would LIFT, SEPARATE AND SUPPORT.
