I’ve just returned home from attending Brisbane Fashion Weekends Designer Launch at Next Hotel in Brisbane tonight. Sometimes I need to pinch myself when I’m lucky enough to be invited to such events.

I started posting photos to Instagram nearly 2 years ago inspired by Nikki from Styling You as part of her #everydaystyle outfit posts. When I started posting it was just to indulge my love of fashion and style and take time out of my busy life to do something just for me. As mums we so often put ourselves last and can feel guilty for taking time just for us but we really shouldn’t as it has benefits for the whole family. When mum is happy and fulfilled everything just seems to work better.

Two years on and my little daily outfit photos have grown into a Blog and I have been privileged to work with some amazing fashion and jewellery brands and more importantly meet some truly beautiful supportive women. Life really is good.

So when I was contacted a few weeks ago and asked if I would be one of the Official Bloggers for the first Brisbane Fashion Weekend I jumped at the chance. A whole weekend to immerse myself in fashion and spend time with other like-minded Bloggers will be amazing.

The Brisbane Fashion Weekend is on the 22nd and 23rd October at the Royal International Convention Centre, 600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills.

It will be made up of two days of fashion shows from Australian Designers, with a Pop-Up Precinct of over 5o designers that will selling new collections as well as offering discounted prices on previous collections, a Pamper Room where you can visit to refresh your hair or make up or even indulge in a mini makeover and lastly (champagne is never last) a Champagne Lounge where you can escape when you need to recharge your batteries, sit back and enjoy a glass of champagne. And if you are me take off the heels for at least 5 mins – maybe I need to suggest free foot massages.

Tonight was all about revealing the Runway Designers that would showcasing their collections on the weekend, there is a very diverse group of Designers that will appeal to all style tastes.

I was also had so much fun hanging out and drinking Moet Chandon Champagne with some gorgeous Blogger friends.

Now what do you wear to such an event.

For me it had to fulfil multiple criteara as I was coming straight from work I had to find something that I could wear to work without looking overdressed and that wouldn’t crease after being in it all day. The first dress that came to mind was this Black Drape Maxi $59.00 from Blue Bungalow – this dress is super soft and comfortable and with the longer sleeves perfect for being outside in the cool night air.

I had to wear my new Frankie 4 Nikki heels (will be released 14th September) – these have a great block heel and are made from extremely soft leather. Now I have to say if you love Frankie 4 and love the look of these heels don’t delay you will need to grab yourself a pair when they are released, I think that these are going to sell like hot cakes. I already have my eye on them in Nude.

The only thing that I need to change/add to take this outfit from work to a night out was to exchange my tote for a statement clutch. The one I choose is one that I picked up on sale from Adorne at Christmas – similar style here on sale for $40.00.

Now for one lucky follower I have 2 silver tickets to giveaway in the next week – so stay tuned to my Instagram page.
