ELLA & SUNDAY – A/W

I’m currently sitting in our hotel room in Albany, New York hot spotting off hubby’s phone (thank goodness for unlimited data plans).

We are at the end of our 12 day tour of East Coast USA & Canada with Trip a Deal – I will talk about it more in an upcoming post but for now here is the link if you want to read up about it. We have an extra 3 nights in New York still to come but these are on our own.

Leading up to the trip I was having a hard time trying to decide what I wanted to wear while I was here – it need to fit my travel wardrobe criteria

  • Comfortable
  • Practical
  • Multiple wear

I was really excited a few weeks before we left that the Rani from local Sunshine Coast Brand Ella & Sunday contacted and asked if I wanted to take some pieces from their new A/W range with me.

Now I’ve been working with Ella & Sunday for a little while now and I love the beautiful clothing you can wear everyday. Made from natural fibres such as 100% cotton, linen & cotton/silk, classic styles that you can wear for years and pieces that will slot in perfectly with your current wardrobe.

I have to say one of the things I most love about the brand is that it is all Australia designed and made from unique fabrics that I know I won’t be seeing on every second person.

Sydney Jeans Stretch Denim – 7/8 – $119.95

Zoya Skirt Indigo Zig Zag Stripe – $119.95

Priya Shirt Embroided White – $119.95

Neve Shirt Coconut Blue – $119.95

Mowgli Shirt Rooftop Garden – $119.95

One of my favourite and versatile pieces from the new range is the 7/8 Sydney Jeans in Stretch Denim – I have worn these jeans 3 times already (just a little note about the length as you know I not tall so that you can get a true idea of the length I just wanted to say that I have folded over the jeans once to get the length I like).

Now normally jeans wouldn’t be my first choice for long haul flights as I find that they can tend to cut in and become quite uncomfortable. But I wore these for our flight over – all 17 hours of it and found that they were perfect. NOTE – I would suggest you wash these before your first wear as they are quite a dark wash and you just need to get rid of any excess dye.

All the 3 shirts are made from 100% cotton, breathable and soft making them incredibly comfortable to wear all day. This tops were packed in my pack and only need a very quick going over with the iron before wear and they stayed fresh looking all day. These shirts are also great to wear under a blazer or jacket for the cold weather. We have been very lucky with our weather while here and it has been quite warm.

The Zoya Skirt is quite stunning made from hand printed cotton canvas exclusive to Ella & Sunday – it has a slight a-line design with a fitted waist and frayed hem. This skirt is quite a statement and would be very easy to dress up by added a blazer or dress down with a tee, denim jacket and kicks.
