Is anyone like me – you get obsessed with a trend and you can’t get enough of it.
My current obsession is EMBROIDERY and I’ve fallen for it hard.
I just love the details.
With this current obsession I’m not discriminating on a particular piece of clothing – I love it on dresses, shirts, skirts and jackets.
My preference is the peasant style embroidery – sticking to only a couple of contrasting colours against a plain background, simple, classic and striking.
When I get obsessed I spend hours going through instagram and websites trying to find the perfect piece at a price that I’m willing to pay.
As it was my birthday last week I was free to indulge my obsession without feeling any guilt.
As we get older buying presents for your spouse can be hard as we tend to have everything that we need. So hubby was very happy when I told him I knew exactly what I wanted for my birthday – that it was more clothes was a surprisingly a surprise for him not sure why though (a girl can never have to many clothes, right!).
The pressure was off for him and he happily gave me his credit card for me to order online.
The best part about my present was that it was on sale and for that weekend it was another 40% off – so we were both winning all round.
I didn’t receive my dress for my birthday but I didn’t mind as I knew it was on its way.
The dress and the pair of shoes that I also added to my order arrived a few days later and they were perfect.
I know that currently Brisbane and a large part of Australia is in a grip of a heat wave but before we know it, we will all be looking for autumn and winter clothes.
The Aztec Peasant Dress from Seed is perfect for now and later.
It’s made from 100% cotton falling midi length, side splits and long sleeves, I push will push the sleeves up to my elbow as it’s a better look on me.
Being cotton this dress is perfect to wear in summer as its light, during the winter months if I need extra layers it will work perfectly with a denim jacket.
Seed Aztec Peasant Dress $129.95 (currently another 30% off but only a size 10 available online)
I find the peasant style clothes are great for dress up or down simply by changing a couple of accessories – swapping heels for kicks and a clutch for a cross-body bag or tote.
I’ve styled this dress two ways so that you can see the how versatile this style can be.
For work today I’m wearing it with the black mules but I think my favourite way to style it is with the Frankie 4 kicks – casual but with a little bit of an edge.
Work or Play
I have styled the dress with Seed birthday heels and statement leopard print clutch.
