Last weekend I blogged about the ‘Perfect Short’ – read about it here

This weekend it’s all about the Perfect White Shirt – I always find this search is a little bit like the fashion version of the Holy Grail.

The reason why the search for the perfect white shirt is so hard is that what you are looking for tends to change from season to season.

My criteria for my current search for the upcoming summer season was

  • light weight fabric suitable for the summer months
  • sleeves that could be rolled up
  • a flowing fabric and design that doesn’t cling
  • a longer length at the back, this is for those times you just want to hide the butt

My basic fashion style is very very heavily influenced by denim in all its shapes and forms. I try to regularly step away from the denim section of my wardrobe but it doesn’t last long and I find myself reaching for my favourite denim jeans, skirt, shirt, shorts or dress.

The perfection addition to any denim item is white hence the never ending search for the perfect white top, shirt or jacket.

Now I do own countless white tee shirts and I know that I will continue to buy more – I love the fresh look of a white tee. No matter how well you look after a white tee shirt it eventually looses that freshness and crispness. I tend not to spend more than about $40.00 for a white tee purely for that reason, normally I can pick them up for about $20 – $30.

Now back to my search for the ‘Perfect White Shirt’. I have to say this time I didn’t even have to search as it was like the ladies at Frankie and Co knew what I needed and sent me this stunning white shirt for me to wear.

When I was contacted and asked if I would like to receive an couple of items to road test, I said yes.

I will admit I did go onto their website and look through all the gorgeous items and wonder what fabulous item they would send.

There was so many things that I loved I was glad that I didn’t have to make that decision myself.

When the Anna White Shirt – $59.00 turned up in my letterbox I was extremely excited as it seemed to tick off everyone of my points on my wish list. I did wonder whether they have any ESP abilities as it was like they had read my mind.

As I said denim is my wardrobe addiction and the Anna White Shirt is the perfect accompaniment. I have styled this quite classically with a pair of Sussan Distressed jeans (similar style can be found here)and kept the accessories quite simple.

Above I have worn the shirt open with a cheap tee from Cotton On and a pair of Seed heels. I think this look could take you anywhere – well anywhere that didn’t involve a lot of walking. I love my heels but keep them for times that I don’t have to walk too much otherwise by the end of the time I suffer from very sore feet. I would happily wear this to work, out to lunch with the girls or just add a statement clutch and it would be perfect for a night on the town.

Above I have worn it buttoned up and added a pair of Forever New – Pax Gilly Sandals $54.99 and this is perfect for weekend wear or a day of shopping. Now when I say a day I mean a day, shopping is my cardio and my hobby and when I get the chance I like to shop till I drop.

My backside is not normally a view that I love to see or show but this is just to show you how fabulous the back of this shirt is. The length is perfect and covers the butt nicely but as this is such light fabric if you are wanting to channel a bit of J.Lo and show off the butt the shirt is light enough to tuck in without causing unnecessary bulk.
