Now I have been complaining about the fact that autumn is taking its time to make its presence known here in Brisbane.
But there is definitely a chill in the air in the mornings – finally.
It is the perfect timing for the release of Metalicus new Gina Merino Wool Range and the upcoming Wool Week.
So when I received an email to go in store to pick a piece from the new Gina range I couldn’t wait.
This was very exciting as normally when I get gifted a piece of clothing I usually don’t get the chance to go in store and try it on.
There was a slight issue as the only time I had free was on Mother’s Day last Sunday this was after I had participated in the 8 km Mother’s Day Classic fun run at South Bank.
To say I wasn’t looking or smelling my best was an understatement.
But the beautiful and helpful ladies at the Queens Plaza store were fantastic and completely overlooked my somewhat less than fabulous appearance.
The Gina Collection is made up of 3 classic transeasonal pieces across 4 classic colours – black, grey, navy and plum.
What I love about this collection is that it is made from a Merino wool blend that it is lightweight but warm and perfect for layering.
It also dries 5 times faster than your usual wool now I don’t know about you but with my extremely busy lifestyle this is a real plus. Anything that makes my life easier is a winner in my books.
Now I always love a cardi for winter especially a Queensland winter when you don’t need to wear a lot of really heavy clothes.
So I couldn’t go past the waterfall cardi in plum – such a flattering shape and gorgeous colour.
I also got to pick a piece to go with my cardi – this was not an easy task there was so many lovely piece to choose from.
Did I go with a skirt, a pair of a leggings, a dress, a pair of pants?
I did try on all of the above but when I tried on the Kendal Jeans I knew that I didn’t have to look any further.
Now I do have a very large and varied jeanrobe – I’m a sucker for denim and think you can never have too much of it in your life.
But what made me fall in love with these straight away was the fit and the stretch.
The waist actually fits on your waist so there is no danger of a muffin top making an appearance.
And the great amount of stretch means that there is no discomfort when wearing all day. These are a generous fit so I would recommend you go down a size – I went with the size 8 and they were perfect.
