MID WEEK LOVES – COTTON ON

This weeks MID WEEK LOVES is Cotton On. A store that allows you to follow the current trends without it breaking the budget.

This season is about the 70’s VIBE and I’m ready to embrace it.

I’m loving the wide leg pants, free flowing shirts and anything with tassles. It evokes childhood memories of those tv shoes I used to watch – Charlies Angels, Bionic Woman and Wonder Women. These women always looked gorgeous and had impossibly perfect hair. I may be showing my age but let me just say I was very young in the 70’s.

I’ve kept my favourite 70’s picks quite neutral in colour. I tend to steer away from bold prints preferring to stick to a more classic colour pallet. Add a pair of wedges and you would have your outfit completely sorted.

A classic white shirt is a summer must, the look of a white shirt and blue jeans is always such a classic and looks great on all women no matter what age.

Now tassles are not for everyone so if you want to experience the trend without going overboard a cute tassle bag will do the job.

MONOCHROME is always a favourite and the items are a great building block to any wardrobe.

I have picked a basic LBD that has a simple but lovely neckline, this could be dressed up with a pair of heels and a statement necklace or a pair of gladiator flats and a stack of silver bracelets.

I have become quite obsessed with the drop crotch pants these last few months. Now if you are yet to embrace the trend these Indi 3/4 pants could be the answer. They are only $19.95 so if you find that they are not for you, it’s no big deal as you haven’t out laid a lot of money. But I think that once you have tried them you will love the relaxed feel and they won’t be your last pair.

I love a pair of white jeans for summer and these ripped skinny jeans are a great option for the coming months.

The jungle is calling with KHAKI still very much in the stores.

I find that khaki is a softer colour than black and perfect for the upcoming summer months. I’ve picked some no nonsense items with the tab shirt perfect with a pair of denim shorts or the white ripped jeans above.

The lovely light cargo pants would be great for the summer BBQ add a white tee and you have a wonderful relaxed weekend outfit.

A sleeveless anorak is a great way to wear a jacket in the hot summer months, you get the feeling of a jacket without overheating. Living in Brisbane this is a very real issue in the summer months.

And if you don’t want to go the whole hog khaki then a touch can be added to an outfit with this fun little wristlet.
