It’s the start of a New Year and the first part of the year is going to be one that, for us, will be filled with celebrations.
We start with my youngest 18th on the 10th of this month and then my 50th at the end of the month, followed by our 10th wedding anniversary, hubby’s 60th and the birth of another gorgeous grandchild.
So many wonderful things are in store for us and I really can’t wait.
All of those celebrations will mean new outfits, this could ended up quite expensive 6 months.
So I have been on the look out for some cheaper options.
I thought I would share one of my first finds – this cute little pleated jumpsuit from Rivers.
Before I go any further I have to say if you haven’t checked out Rivers lately you need to do it very soon – so many affordable and gorgeous fashion options and most of them well under $50.00.
As soon as I saw this jumpsuit it reminded me of a gorgeous blush pink Halston dress that Sarah Jessica Parker wore to the Met Gala a few years ago. Now while I don’t have the many to spend on a Halston Heritage dress I thought that this was the perfect affordable alternative.
This jumpsuit does come in a beautiful soft pink colour but I thought the navy version would be a more versatile option for me.
For me navy is such a great alternative to black in the summer months just a little softer to wear against the skin.
This jumpsuit needs very few accessories I just added tan heels, a pair of fun tassel earrings and pom pom clutch.
I ended up wearing this out for a movie and lunch date with my sister to see Pitch Perfect 3 – on a side point a fun chick flick, if you liked the others you will like the latest instalment. Fat Amy is back just as funny as usual, my only gripe would be the really bad Australian accent from John Lithgow.
But back to the dress – this is a standard fit, I’m wearing a size 12. It does have very thin straps I could have worn a strapless bra but decided to go with the black bra (for comfort) and I’m not worried about the straps showing. This would look great with a denim jacket for the cooler weather or for us here at the moment when in air con (the only cooler weather we are experiencing).
The best part about this dress is the price currently reduced to $12.00 – the navy dress is no longer available online (check in store) but the soft pink is available here.
