When the lovely Monika from Planet Shoes contacted me in regards trying out some of their new season range of boots, I was very excited.

I truly am a shoeaholic – just ask my Hubby or try and see the floor in my walk-in-robe.

My feet are one of my favourite body parts – they are small and dainty and I’m just going to say it look darn good in just about any shoe.

If I was a celebrity and had to insure a body part the feet would be it.

But I do tend to buy a lot of unsuitable footwear and end up with extremely sore feet.

I can’t help it the killer heels are just so pretty and I’m vertically challenged so heels of any height are always on the shoe menu.

But while killer heels can look great they are not really practical for anything other than sitting and maybe drinking cocktails, now while this sounds fabulous I do have to live in the real world.

So I was excited to try Planet Shoes they pride themselves on the use of soft, quality leather for their uppers and have moulded foot beds with arch support and padding to cradle beneath.

I was given free range to pick from any of their new season – I was like a kid in a candy store.

I chose 3 different pairs – 2 long boots and a pair of short flat boots.

I was slightly nervous in regards to the long boots – I have decent size calves and have had issues before finding a long boot that

  1. Would actually zip up and
  2. Wouldn’t cut off circulation to my foot and
  3. Wouldn’t cause muffin top of the upper calf – it is a real thing and it’s not pretty.

I needn’t have worried both boots fitted around the calf perfectly with enough room to wear with jeans or leggings.

Now its been an unseasonably warm start to autumn so these amazing boots have been taunting me from the corner of my wardrobe.

I wanted to wait until it was really cold and I could layer up with scarves, jackets and my boots.

But you know what why wait I can still wear them without scarves and jackets.

I think every shoerobe should have a least one pair of long boots in it – mine now has two.

The first pair I chose were the Orchard $299.95  – some of the features are

  • cross over plait/buckle detail around the ankle
  • two tone – plain black leather at the front with black suede at the back.
  • block heel – giving some height but comfortable enough to walk in all day

I do love all black love for winter but it can look a bit one dimensional so I love to play with textures to keep an outfit interesting.

I’ve added my Orchard Boots $299.95 with Sussan’s Sleeveless Turtleneck Knit Top $89.95 | Little Party Dress Kylie Wet Look Leggings $49.95 (yes Little Party Dress do more than just dresses) *gifted | Sussan’s Animal Print Clutch (last season) | ilyas Honey Jewellery Watercress Black Onyx Pendant $70.00 – I won this pendant in an Instagram competition a while back and it is one of the most versatile necklaces.

Now on a side note – how fabulous are these Little Party Dress Kylie Wet Look Leggings.

I was worried that the wet look of these pants may do terrible things for my short legs and thighs but by wearing the long boots with them they tend to elongate my legs and the long loose knit helps to hide the butt.

My second choice was the Woodstock2 Boots $299.95 – these are the classic riding boot

  • Elastic back for comfort
  • Flat heel – can walk all day in these beauties
  • Buckle feature on the top of side

These are the boots you need if you are going travelling – comfortable for walking all day and such a versatile colour will go with everything.

Now I just need to convince Hubby to take to Melbourne for a weekend – they would be the perfect all day shopping boot.

I’ve added my Woodstock2 $299.95 to Boho Bird Flying Free Top $79.95 *gifted | Rockmans Blue Wash Biker Jeggings $49.95 | Adorne Clutch (purchased on sale – no longer available)

  • As always you look fabulous…I struggle with full length boots over my calves too! xx

    • Yes I purchased a gorgeous pair off eBay but they must have been made for a women with abnormally tiny calves and I’ve never been able to wear them no matter how hard I tried to stuff my generous calves into them. These boots on the other hand were perfect – it was a little Cinderella moment

  • Jenni from styling curvy

I’ve had a pair of long brown planet boots for around 5 years, sooo comfy!

    • I only just discovered them Jenni and can’t believe how comfortable they are – no sore feet when wearing these beauties

  • Katypotaty

Love the riding boots so much on you, such a classic style!

    • They really are Katy – riding boots never go out of style and these come in classic black which is always a favourite

  • I love the riding boots! I currently don’t have a pair of riding boots, it’s been hard finding a pair to flatter my short legs and wide calves!

    • These come in black as well Ingrid – I always love to have a pair of riding boots in my shoerobe. I find them to be so versatile and also they are so comfortable to wear.
The elastic on the back really make these perfect for us gals with wide calves xx

      • I second this advice. I prefer to call them dancer’s calves – it just sounds better! x

        • I love this – Dancer calvrs , as long as no one asks me too dance. Unless daggy dancing is a real thing

  • Babe in boots! I have a fab collection of knee high boots but just have fallen in love with ankle boots and haven’t worn them. Maybe I should challenge myself to wear them this winter!

    • You should Kimba I would love to see how you style them, you always bring a fresh take and I love to get inspo from you

  • What is it with bootmakers that cut off circulation at our calves? These were great choices – perfect for winter!

    • I don’t understand it they make it for women that have no calves. Some issue with sleeves so many top/jackets just too tight. These boots are the perfect width made for real women
