SPRING READY – EB & IVE

S is for September and the start of Spring.

I have loved winter but  towards the end with all the new stock appearing in store and online I’m itching to burst out the Spring frocks.

I went to the second Style and Champagne Event on Saturday put on by Nikki Styling You and Carolyn and Gillian Champagne Cartel it was such a fabulous afternoon with a lot of laughter, champagne and style.

If you have the opportunity to go to one of the events don’t hesitate and don’t worry if you have no one to go with, you will be at a table with other like minded women who will make you feel welcome. I love the community that Nikki from Styling You has created it is full of supportive women and I have made many friends for all over the country through it.

It was the perfect occasion to wear one of the new dresses that I received my the lovely people at Eb & Ive. The new Spring/Summer collection from Eb & Ive is filled with beautiful spring colours, prints and flowing lines.

The hard part was choosing which of the two dresses to wear – a nice dilemma to have, so often it’s the phrase “I have nothing to wear”. Now this is a lie I have a whole room full of clothes but I’m sure I’m not the only to utter that little white lie to themselves.

I choose to wear the Mari Dress $99.95 (one size) in Mandarin, the colour of this dress is divine.

We all have a certain colour that works perfectly for our skin tones and hair colours. The peach/mandarin colour of this dress is my perfect colour – actually any colour in the red and pink colour palette works for me. It does amazing things to my skin.

I actually discovered it was my perfect colour quite by accident when I was a teenager. I was shopping with my Mum and we picked t-shirts to try on – I went towards a icy blue tee and my Mum went towards the peach. We tried on our picks and didn’t love them, so we decided to swap tees. It was instantaneous the difference the right colour can make to you complexion. Safe to say we walked out of the shop with the t-shirts but not with the colour we had expected.

The Mari Dress is quite versatile it can be dressed up with a pair of heels or it would also be perfect to throw over a pair of togs in the summer months.

This has a slight high low hem line – I choose to wear a white slip underneath as it is quite flowing and I felt more comfortable knowing that I didn’t have to worry about accidentally showing my undies.

I kept me accessories very simple with this – Feather and Noise Universal Tan Heel $179.00, Uberkate necklaces – X-Small Circle and Large Love Lines Pendent

The second dress that I picked is the Lulu Dress $89.95 in Colbolt. Blue is not my usual colour – I usually leave this to Bev from Iris May Style she rocks blue like no one else.

But I love to mix it up – fashion should never be boring, my mantra is that if it feels good then wear it. And wearing this dress in this colour really does make me feel good.

I love the lace up detailing on the neckline it is simple and right on trend, it also has slight splits on either side of the dress.

This dress again is perfect to dress up or down – it would be the perfect holiday dress with a pair of metallic flats.

I have worn this to work today with a pair of nude heels to elongate my legs and I have added new release Ruby & Lilli Tassels Earrings – Turquoise Cross Earrings $37.00.

  • What super versatile dresses! I like the blue dress on you almost as much as the peach. Both look stunning!

    • They both are Ingrid – the peach is the colour I would normally go towards but in the style of the blue. These are a great combination of what I love

  • Gosh I love you in strong colours Karen – they look fabulous on you. It sounds like you had a heap of fun on Saturday too (you chose the perfect dress to wear out of the two…why? because it has POCKETS!) xxx
