SPRING TREND: OFF THE SHOULDER

Spring has well and truly arrived in Brisbane and I’m predicting its going to be a long hot summer.

So I have already rearranged my wardrobe and all my spring/summer clothes are now front and centre.

One of my favourite trends last year was the off the shoulder top and I’m happy to report its going to be big again this season.

So I was extremely excited when Dani from My Boutique emailed me her latest catalogue from her new season and it contained multiple off the shoulder tops and dresses and the new prints were just stunning,

Just a little history, Dani designs all her own clothes and fabrics and they are made in her factory in Bali. So when you purchase a item from My Boutique you purchasing a unique piece that you are not going to see in multiple stores.

It was a difficult choice and but I finally picked two gorgeous off the shoulder pieces in two bold prints – a dress and a top.

As soon as I saw the Ziggy print I new I had to have an item in it. The bold zig zag pattern in two tone blue is gorgeous and a real statement piece. I decided on the Cali Dress in this print – it has a loose fit and flowing sleeves. I choose to add a pair of nude heels, this colour heel lets the dress take centre stage and doesn’t fight with the pattern. You could also add a pair of metallic flats and this would be perfect for a beach party.

My second pick was the Cali Top in Paradiso – the black and white print is simple and classic. This can be teamed with your favourite pair of denim jeans or as I have down below a pair of black droppies. Or if you wanted to create an illusion of a dress you could purchase the skirt in the same print in either the midi or maxi length, this would be great option for a spring wedding outfit.

Now I love the off the shoulder trend but do realise that it does take a slight dedication when wearing an off the shoulder dress or top and also the addition of the dreaded strapless bra. So if you don’t want to commit to that both of these gorgeous prints come in other options ranging from a maxi dress to skirts to tops to pants.
