Last Saturday I was privileged enough to be asked to lunch by the gorgeous Nikki from Styling You to celebrate the 2 year anniversary of #everdaystyle hashtag on Instagram along with approximately 30 other fabulous women.

To say that I had a blast is an understatement – when you have that many women in the one place you expect and get lots of laughter, talking and of course lots of photo taking.

I will take this opportunity to thank Kate from Loveface for her amazing photography skills – you are an amazing women and your skills behind a camera rival that of any preschooler. Unfortunately I’m contracted to use my photographer (my gorgeous hubby) so I’m unable to use any of those photos in this post – such a shame!

When I received my invite a few weeks ago I was extremely excited by the thought of getting dressed up and meeting some of the fabulous women I have followed on Instagram but then came the thought ‘What was I going to wear?’

I think this is a question that most of us spent a fair bit of time pondering.

I wanted to wear something that totally encapsulated summer time glamour – this is not something that I get to wear very often so I wanted it to be something really special, something I wouldn’t wear in my everyday life.

I purchased a pair of dressy pants and a lovely off the shoulder top to wear but some how this didn’t feel right, right up until the night before I still hadn’t made up my mind. I had another option that kept pulling me to it.

It was a gorgeous AMALFI Long Kaftan – $249.99 that I was very lucky to be gifted a couple of weeks ago from Vizcosa – (see post here on a short one that I also received). So on the Friday night I tried my two options and to be honest there was no contest the kaftan was the winner.

What I feel in love with first was the most amazing pattern and colours – it screamed summer time glamour. The other big plus was it was actually comfortable to wear – I’m slowing falling in love with the off shoulder look but I still struggle with the whole strapless bra issue! The kaftan allowed me to wear a normal bra – so no pulling up and adjusting needed, hallelujah.

The other amazing difference with a Vizcosa kaftan and your normal kaftans is that they are not a one size fits all. They come in sizes from Petite (8-10) – One S (10-16) – Regular (12-22) – Plus (24-26) so you will be able to find the right kaftan to fit you perfectly.

For the #everydaystyle 2 year anniversary lunch I wore the AMALFI Kaftan with a wooden belt and a pair of killer tassel heels from Missguided $52.50 – being that it was a hot day and the flowing nature of this kaftan kept me cool.

The amazing group of ladies at the Saturday lunch – Instagram has been such a fantastic place to connect with other wonderful supportive, encouraging and like minded women under the #everydaystyle hashtag.

The AMALFI Long Kaftan is extremely versatile as you have the ability to create multiple looks from belted (as above) to long and loose, tucked and short and folded and tied around the waist to create a more fitted shape. It is made from 100% Silk, decorated with rhinestones and non sheer so a slip is not needed.

Below I have shown the last three options, along with a ‘How to’ video by the gorgeous Carmen from Vizcosa.

Just a note the AMALFI Long Kaftan is so gorgeous that it has sold out but is open for Pre-Order with arrival expected 20th to 30th December.

If you want to show off your legs then the below look may be for you, it is very easy to create you just need to either tuck the bottom of the kaftan either into a slip if you are wearing one or into your undies. Its a bit like being a child all over again. Watch the ‘How to Video Link’

To create a more fitted dress look you can fold the bottom of the kaftan and tie around your waist – watch the ‘How to Video Link’

But then there is always the no frills look that I love – long and loose. No ‘How to’ video needed.

  • the above items were gifted to me for editorial consideration.
